2023-2024 Scholarship Recipients Announced

The Trustees of the TTU Kappa Sigma Endowed Scholarship Fund are pleased to announce the 2023/2024 scholarship recipients.

Kanin, T. Shull, a junior Mechanical Engineering major from Kingston, Tennessee has been selected to receive the John David Dudley Scholarship. The Dudley Scholarship is designed to recognize an outstanding member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity that has demonstrated a commitment to the qualities described within the Star and Crescent. The 2023/2024 Dudley Scholarship is $5000.

Jaiden Page, a sophomore Engineering Technology major from Dickson, Tennessee has been selected to receive the John Graham Scholarship. The Graham Scholarship is designed to recognize a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity with a particular interest in rugby at TTU. The 2023/2024 Graham Scholarship is $1000.

Carson Boyd, a sophomore Business Management major from Spring Hill, Tennessee has been selected to receive the Earl Briley Scholarship. The Briley Scholarship recognizes an outstanding first year initiate of the chapter with a $1000 award.

Kappa Sigma Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in September 1999 as an endowed scholarship fund with Tennessee Technological University’s Office of University Advancement . This endowment was created to provide annual scholarships for dedicated and academically deserving members of the Kappa Mu Chapter at Tennessee Technological University. Within the scholarship fund, separate scholarships have been named to memorialize members of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Since the origination of the scholarship program in 2001, over $95,500 in awards have been issued to deserving undergraduate brothers of Kappa Sigma at Tennessee Tech. As of 12/31/2022 the TTU Kappa Sigma Scholarship Fund had a value of $146,034.

The application process for 2023/2024 will begin this fall and is accessible to all current undergraduate brothers through the university’s scholarship application platform.

Britton L. Cooper, a Senior Accounting major from Madisonville has been selected to receive the John David Dudley Scholarship. The Dudley Scholarship is designed to recognize an outstanding member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity that has demonstrated a commitment to the qualities described within the Star and Crescent. The 2022/2023 Dudley scholarship is $3500.

Jase D. Horner, a junior Mechanical Engineering major from Linden was awarded a scholarship from the general scholarship fund due to their outstanding academic and fraternal achievements. The 2022/2023 general scholarship award is $1000.

Robert P. Bond, a Senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering from College Grove, Tennessee has been selected to receive the John David Dudley Scholarship. The Dudley Scholarship is designed to recognize an outstanding member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity that has demonstrated a commitment to the qualities described within the Star and Crescent. The 2021/2022 Dudley scholarship is valued at $4000.

Jase D. Horner, a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering from Lindon, Tennessee has been selected to receive the Earl Briley Scholarships. The Briley Scholarship is designed to recognize a newly initiated member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. The 2021/2022 Briley scholarship is valued at $1000.

Additionally, Britton L. Cooper, a junior from Knoxville, Tennessee majoring in Finance was awarded a scholarship from the general scholarship fund due to his outstanding academic and fraternal achievements. He will receive a $500 scholarship.

Unfortunately, no qualifying applications were received for the Graham Scholarship. The Graham Scholarship is designed to recognize a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity with an interest in the sport of rugby.

Since the origination of the scholarship program in 2001, $83,000 in awards have been issued to deserving undergraduate brothers of Kappa Sigma at Tennessee Tech with an endowment valued at $154,000.

The application process for 2022/2023 will begin this fall on the university’s scholarship application platform.
